Fore Street in the West Quarter is a rare find, not only for its architecture, but for its unusual shops and arcades. The McCoy's Arcade is home to vintage and retro clothing shop The Real McCoy and Manson's Guitars, while the City Arcade has some interesting shops such as Babooshka, where you can find beautifully painted Russian dolls and other treasures.
Gandy Street, just off High Street in the Castle Quarter, has a great range of unique shops in an historic setting. Kintamani sells high quality handcrafted products and beautifully finished carvings.
The area of Gandy Street also has several independent boutiques such as Coco, Iris and jewellers such as Firkins.
Castle Street is great for fashion and jewellery, with designer boutique Crede and Rant & Rage Kids, and jewellers Michael Spiers and Erin Cox Jewellery.
Harlequins Shopping Centre, just off Queen Street, is linked by bridge to Guildhall Shopping Centre, and has an eclectic mix of shops and restaurants including Cafe Boulevard.
Roman Walk, Bampfylde Lane and Bedford Street in the new Princesshay shopping quarter, have contemporary jeweller Carol Anne, Chandos deli, Neal's Yard Remedies, and designer Caroline Charles.
Head to Magdalen Road for great local food shopping with Bon Gout Delicatessen, Gibson's Plaice fishmongers, and Pipers Farm butchers and veg shop. You will also find unusual gifts and crafts at Leaf Street.
